Ada’s beautiful painting is a landscape of her country. The colours reflect that it is a time shortly after a good winter season with plenty of rain. The shrubs, grasses and seeds which lie dormant in the red sands during the long dry months in Central Australia quickly burst into life. The bright yellow blooms of the acacia and native cassias dominate the scene, later in the season soft shades of mauves and pinks of the parakeelya, daisies and native fuchsia will peek out from under the huge variety of shrubs that reflect every shade of green.
