Artwork: This painting tells a story of nurture, sustainability, connectivity, regeneration, and growth, while celebrating culture and community.
The grass tree (Black Boy) stands as a tribute to the elders and the past – the visionaries whose leadership, knowledge, and resilience laid the foundations for the community and continue to guide future generations.
Overall, this artwork speaks of hope – hope for the present and the future. It reflects the importance of building connections, caring for Country, strengthening community, honouring elders, and creating a shred sense of belonging for generations to come.
Lee Anne Hall is the daughter of the Aboriginal activist and artist, Harry Phillip Hall and the indigenous artist Pam Brandy Hall. She is the great granddaughter of Aboriginal activist, the late Jack Patten.
