My Country, My people by Lee Anne Hall, NSW

The artist: Lee-Anne is the daughter of the Aboriginal activist and artist, Phillip Hall.
Lee-Anne is inspired by dreamtime stories passed on to her from her Mother, who is the famous Indigenous artist Pam Brandy Hall. Lee-Anne is the great granddaughter of activist Jack Patten.

Artist's Notes:-
Vivid combinations of pastels and ochres, dynamic lines and bold shapes characterize her modern designs which often employ graphic symbols from the flora and fauna of her ancestry. Lee-Anne has a contemporary style while maintaining traditional storylines.
“this painting depicts the meeting of the two rivers and the vegetation and cotton fields that surrounds it - which is an important food source for the local aboriginal clans. The banks of the river are used for important ceremonies and coroborees”
