Jane Oliver Skin Name: Ampetyane Community: Ltyentye Apurte Biography Born: Wednesday, 3 September 1975 Language: Eastern Arrernte Country: Intwaperre Dreaming: Caterpillar (Urtnerrengatye Jane's grandmother and mother were born at Arltunga and brought to Santa Teresa (Ltyentye Apurte) mission where they grew up. Jane's father grew up in the Undoolya area, east of Alice Springs. Jane was born in Alice Springs and grew up at Ltyentye Apurte. Schooling included work experience at the Health Centre and Art Centre, her final year (10) was done by correspondence. In 1994, at the age of 18, Jane was employed by the Keringke Art Centre. Her talent has developed through self training and workshops, and more recently through participation in the Certificate in Art and Craft, Batchelor College, Alice Springs, NT. Jane's art work is highly detailed - probably the finest of all the Keringke artists. The Little Flower motif often repeats in Jane's work , together with many intricate and developed designs relating to land and tradition. Her work is highly sought after.
