Artwork: This painting depicts the Goanna Love Story and displays traditional iconography and symbols. The small concentric circle is the hole in the sandbank where the goanna lives. The large circle depicts the contours of the sandhill around the goanna burrow. Designs on either side represent the goanna tracks as he searches to find a wife. The design relates to the Goanna Spirit of the Dreamtime as they travel their country in search of love. It also represents the kinship between a male and female goanna. The outer lines (towards edges of the painting) are the tracks in the sand the goannas make during their courtship dance..
